Our country is in the grip of pandemic and as a responsible organization, we are adhering to the directives issued by Govt. of India and various state governments from time to time. At this moment, providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees as well as being a good business partner for our readers, suppliers and the bibliophile community is our foremost priority. Also, in our endeavor to be a transparent organization, we are listing below the steps we are taking to counter COVID-19 in our operations and supply chain:
- All our common areas are cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis including our systems, tools and machinery.
- All our workstations are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before we commence our work.
- We have mandated work from home for every department except the packaging staff and more than 90% of our staff are currently working from their homes.
- We have restricted visitors in our warehouses and only our courier partners are allowed entry, that too only after undergoing a temperature check. Also, we have separated areas for pickups and delivery of parcels so that our office staff is not in direct contact with our courier partners.
- We require our employees to practice proper hygiene: wearing masks at all the time and washing their hands at frequent intervals.

We continue to focus on the health and safety of our representatives while at the same time providing you with the best level of customer support possible. However, since all our customer service team members are working from home, our customer support might be a bit delayed to accommodate an increase in number of customer queries we receive.
During this period, the quickest way to reach out to us is by emailing your queries and concerns in the form of email on firstname.lastname@example.org. In case you do not receive a response within 48 hours, you can escalate the same by forwarding the mail to email@example.com and we shall make provisions to get it resolved quickly. Also, please refrain from messaging us on our social media handles as they are not regularly checked and the response might be delayed there.

As shipping and delivery guidelines are changing on a daily basis, we will update this page with all the updates we have from time to time.
Bookish Santa maintain its own inventory of pre-loved books as well as get new books directly from various publishers and distributors. Accordingly, orders for pre-loved books are being packed and shipped in a timely manner from our warehouses. However, considering the fact that courier companies are overburdened with high package volume, please allow an extra 2-4 business days for shipping. You will receive a shipping confirmation mail as soon as your order is shipped. Thank you for your patience.
Currently Delhi (our base from where we operate) is under a lockdown and therefore, all the publishers and distributor warehouses are temporarily shut. As per the current guidelines, we expect the warehouses to resume operations by 3rd May 2021. Accordingly, orders for new books shall be processed only after 3rd May 2021, once the warehouses are operational. In view of the same, request you to place your orders considering the above timeframe in mind.
Cash on Delivery Orders: Currently, due to limited manpower, we are giving preference to prepaid orders and therefore you may experience further delays when you place an order using cash on delivery mode of payment. Therefore, we request you to place your orders using prepaid modes only if possible.
Orders for Sale: From time to time, we organize sale on various channels either to clear our warehouse inventory or in partnership with other bookstores. The books ordered in sale shall be processed within the timelines mentioned during the sale and there are no delays in processing orders received during any sale - website or telegram.
State-wise restrictions: In view of widespread COVID pandemic, currently many state governments have imposed restrictions on delivery of non-essential items. Books are categorized as non-essential items and accordingly, delivery shall remain impacted in the following states till further notice:
- Maharashtra : till 1May 2021
- Delhi : till 3 May 2021
- Chhattisgarh : till 5 May 2021
- Goa : till 3 May 2021
- Karnataka : till 12 May 2021
- Madhya Pradesh : till 30 April 2021
- Uttarakhand (Kotdwar, Swargashram, Rishikesh, Garhi Cantt and Clement Town, Haldwani, Lalkuan, Ramnagar): till 3 May 2021
Further, in cities and states where night curfew / weekend lockdown is imposed, please expect a delay in delivery by 1-3 working days.
