जीवन-राग, दुःखानुभव और सम-वेदना की सजल छवियों से फूटता रुलाई का गीत; जो इक्कीसवीं सदी के हमारे आज में भी कील की तरह बिंधा है। किसी ख़ास ऋतु में फूटनेवाली रुलाई का गाना; बिछोह में कूकती आत्मा की आँखों से गिरते अदृश्य आँसू! ये कविताएँ उन्हीं आँसुओं का शब्दानुवाद हैं। शिरीष कुमार मौर्य अपनी स्थानिकता और लोक की परिष्कृत संवेदना के सुपरिचित कवि हैं। ‘रितुरैण’ में उन्होंने गीतात्मक लय में बँधी अपनी गहन संवेदनापरक कविताओं को संकलित किया है। ‘मैं हिन्दी का एक लगभग कवि/लिखता हूँ/हर ऋतु में/हर आस/हर याद...’ जहाँ इस ‘कठकरेजों की दुनिया में/यों ही/बेमतलब हुआ जाता है/मनुष्य होने तक का/हर इन्तजार।’ ये कविताएँ मनुष्य के अपने परिवेश से एकमेक होकर मनुष्यता के आह्वान की कविताएँ हैं और उस दुःख की जो बार-बार हो रहे मनुष्यता के हनन और उपेक्षा से उपजता है। भूखे मनुष्य, ऋतुओं के बदलाव के साथ और असहाय होते मनुष्य और पूनो का br>चाँद जो जवाब नहीं देता ‘सवाल भर उठाता है/लोकतंत्र के रितुरैण में।’ और ‘पूनो की ही रात में राजा हमारा/बजाता है/राग जनसम्मोहिनी।’ ये कविताएँ इस राग के लिए एक सान्‍द्र, शान्‍त चुनौती की तरह खुलती हैं एक-एक कर। कहती हुई कि ‘हत्या के बाद/ज़िम्मेदार व्यक्तियों के चेहरे पर/जो मुस्कान आती है/सब ऋतुओं को उजाड़ जाती है।’ ये उजड़ी हुई उन ऋतुओं की रुलाई की कविताएँ हैं।.
