Helen Keller began writing "The Story of My Life" in 1902, when she was just 22 years old. The Story of my life is Helen Keller's account of her triumph over deafness and blindness.

The Story of My Life contains three parts. The first is Helen Keller's autobiographical account of her beginning of her studies at Radcliffe. Keller reveals her frustrations and rage, and takes the reader on the unforgettable journey of her education and breakthroughs into the world of communication, with the help of her teacher Anne Sullivan.

Part two contains Helen's letters of family and friends, arranged in chronological sequence, and documents her growth in thought and expression through her writing.

The third part, a supplementary section, contains an account of Helen Keller's life and education written by John Macy, based for the most part on the records and observations of Anne Sullivan.
